We are all on same page and hope to reach a happy conclusion, reveals Paulo Dybala
Juventus star Paulo Dybala has admitted that he is expecting to resume negotiations on a contract extension with the Italian club. The Argentine has less than a year remaining on his current deal but the Bianconeri are prepared to offer him fresh terms which will make him a key figure at the club.
Paulo Dybala arrived in Turin from Palermo in the summer of 2015 for a reported fee of €32 million and the Argentine has since made over 250 appearances for Juventus while scoring 102 goals and 42 assists across all competitions. Not only that, the 27-year-old has helped the Italian side win five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia cups, and three Supercoppa Italiana during his time at the club, with him sometimes forced to play a secondary role.
But with Dybala's current contract expiring at the end of the 2021/22 season, it has been suggested that he is targeting a significant pay rise in order to sign an extension that will see him extend his stay at the Allianz Stadium. The Argentine attacker scored for the club during a 3-0 victory over Malmo in the Champions League to pick up all three points despite their terrible form so far, with only one point in their opening three games in the Serie A.
Speaking to reporters after the Champions League match, the Argentine revealed that he is hopeful of reaching a positive conclusion in the negotiations.
“I think there will be a new meeting this week. The directors have changed, so we’ve started from the beginning. We hope to reach a happy conclusion, I hope there will be good news soon,” Dybala told Sky Sports.
"I always try to give my all. The parties are talking, we are all on the same page and hope to reach a happy conclusion,” he added when speaking to Sport Mediaset.
