Arne Slot is likely to bring in some innovative solutions for Liverpool's line-up in the upcoming match against Southampton. Virgil van Dijk may not get the expected rest, as the team suffers from injury issues in its defence.

Liverpool and Southampton are all set to go against each other in the upcoming clash of the Carabao Cup. However, there has been a major twist for both teams as they would be playing the game without the availability of a head coach. Arne Slot, who is the head coach of Liverpool, received his third yellow card in this season, due to which he has been suspended for the upcoming match.

On the other hand, Russell Martin, the head coach of Southampton, has also been fired, which makes it a challenging encounter for both teams. It was reported that Arne Slot will be using the game against Southampton as an opportunity to rest some of the Liverpool players like Virgil van Dijk due to the hectic team schedule.
