The English Premier League standings had a great change in the previous match day, as Newcastle United has now ranked up to enter the top five in the standings. After their previous match against Aston Villa, Newcastle United secured a 3-0 win, which helped the team to rank up to the 5th spot in the English Premier League standings.

Aston Villa already had a disadvantage in the game, as the team was playing with 10 players, which was fully an advantage for Newcastle United. Anthony Gordon gave an impressive start to Newcastle United, as he started off the game with an opening goal in the 2nd minute.

The match further continued to be dominated equally by both teams, as Alexander Isak secured a goal in the second half to give another lead to his team. Aston Villa could have had a chance to get back into the game but their striker Jhon Duran received a red card by the referee in the 32nd minute, which put him to the bench.

Following this, Aston Villa’s coach Unai Emery also talked about the decision given by the referee, criticising the same. As the game progressed, Joelinton also scored a goal in the added time of the match, putting Newcastle United’s lead to three.
