For the 2025 summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-Min Son has completed a sensational move to Los Angeles FC, joining the MLS side for a record fee of over £20 million, the highest in the league’s history. The 33-year-old leaves Spurs after 10 successful years, where he became a Premier League icon and one of the club’s greatest-ever players.

Son made 333 Premier League appearances, scoring 127 goals and contributing 27 assists, while his overall tally for Spurs stands at 173 goals and 101 assists in all competitions. He is fourth on the club’s all-time top scorers list, behind only Harry Kane, Jimmy Greaves, and Bobby Smith. Son played his final game in a friendly against Newcastle in his native South Korea, receiving an emotional farewell. He confirmed that he had made the decision to leave some time ago and opted for a move to MLS, despite interest from Saudi clubs.

The South Korean star signed a two-year deal with LAFC, with an option to extend. His last competitive game saw him lift the Europa League trophy, Spurs' first major honour since 2008, in a win over Manchester United, capping a legendary decade. Chairman Daniel Levy called Son “one of the greatest to wear the Lilywhite shirt.”
