Capello Jokes About Ronaldo’s Weight in Reunion

Former England manager Fabio Capello playfully mocked Brazil legend Ronaldo about his weight during a video reunion before Inter Milan’s Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt. Ronaldo, now 49, laughed off the comment. Capello, who coached him at Real Madrid where he scored four goals in 13 games, called him his most talented player but criticised his lifestyle and fitness discipline.

In the build up to Inter Milan’s Champions League clash with Bodo Glimt, former England manager Fabio Capello shared a light hearted but sharp exchange with Brazil legend Ronaldo. The two had previously worked together at Real Madrid, where Ronaldo scored four goals in 13 appearances under the Italian coach.

Reunited over a video call, Capello could not resist teasing his former striker, bluntly asking, “How much do you weigh now?” The 49 year old Ronaldo responded with laughter, replying, “Still with the weight? No more!” Despite the joke, Capello was full of praise for the Brazilian icon’s talent. He described Ronaldo as the most gifted player he ever coached, but also criticized his lifestyle choices.

According to Capello, Ronaldo loved to party and struggled with maintaining his fitness levels. He previously revealed that the striker weighed around 207 pounds during his time in Madrid and was unwilling to slim down. At one stage, Capello even told the club president that Ronaldo might need to be let go.
