Norway Fans Pin Hopes on Haaland as World Cup Return Sparks Excitement

In the Norwegian capital of Oslo, excitement is building ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 as fans prepare to see Norway return to football’s biggest stage after a 28 year absence. The team secured qualification following an impressive campaign and recently boosted confidence with a 3-1 victory over Sweden in a warm up match at Ullevaal Stadion, although star striker Erling Haaland watched from the stands.

Supporters believe Haaland, who plays for Manchester City and is 25 years old, will be central to Norway’s chances of progressing in the tournament, which will be co hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
