On the last day of the league stage in the ongoing inaugural edition of the IPKL, Diler Delhi got the better of Pondicherry Predators by a margin of eight points. In another game of the evening, Bangalore Rhinos played a draw against another team from South India – Chennai Challengers.

As the matches turned out to be inconsequential because of the already decided semi-final line up, Diler Delhi and Pondicherry Predators were involved in a thrilling encounter on Sunday. Pondicherry, however, had a good start to the game and had the lead after the end of the first 20 minutes of the game. Pondicherry were having a huge 28-22 lead at half-time.

However, things took an ugly turn for the South Indian union territory as Sunil Jaipal led Delhi from the front and an amazing comeback by them ensured Delhi winning the game by a big margin of 56-48 points at the end. Skipper Jaipal was awarded Player of the Match as he put up one of the best all-round performance to take his side to a win single-handedly. Jaipal scored 29 raid points and three tackle points in the match.

Earlier in the evening, home team Bangalore Rhinos started off on a great note as they had a lead of 9-5 after the first 10 minutes of the match. Chennai tried their level best to draw level before half-time but trailed 17-20 at the break. The Tamil Nadu-based team bounced back after that and ensured that the game ends in a tie with both the teams locked at 43-43 after 40 minutes of the match.

Pune Pride, Bangalore Rhinos, Diler Delhi and Chennai Challengers are the four teams who have made it to the semi-finals of the tournament which will be played today at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
