In the IPL, commentators are regularly seen poking fun at each other and it was no different in yesterday’s match between MI and SRH. In the aftermath of the Kieron Pollard controversy, Ravi Shastri asked Sanjay Manjrekar if he had exchanged pleasantries with the West Indian before the match.

Things had become ugly between Sanjay Manjrekar and Kieron Pollard after the commentator had called the West Indian brainless for the way he played against Delhi. Pollard had used Twitter to issue a response telling Manjrekar to continue with his “verbal diarrhea” as he gets paid for it. The issue created a huge buzz on social media with people picking sides in the argument.

While Muttiah Muralitharan slammed the Indian commentator for his comments, Ravi Shastri had a little fun at Manjrekar's expense asking him if he had spoken to his West Indian "friend" before the game.

When the camera switched to Pollard during the game, Shastri quipped, "Oh, the big man is in the house. Sanjay, your buddy! You get a chance to speak to him when you went for the toss?"

Amidst the background laughter, Manjrekar joked, " Kept a safe distance. Couple of security guys outside the commentary box as well. That was a shocker, it came out of nowhere, the compliment that he paid me. It just came out of nowhere."

Well, it appears the two have not talked about the issue privately yet and with, still, over a month to go in the tournament, it should be interesting to see what would happen when the two cross paths again.
