Kedar Jadhav's heroics with the bat against England, especially while chasing, drew comparisons to MS Dhoni and now, the 32-year-old has managed to successfully recreate one of Dhoni’s best-improvised efforts. Anticipating Rahane’s shot, Jadhav stuck out his leg to save a few runs for his team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, playing at the Chinnaswamy, found themselves in a spot of bother with Rising Pune Supergiant’s openers scoring runs at will. The home side had conceded 61 runs in seven overs and with a wicket not looking anywhere close to the horizon, they needed a moment of inspiration. That is when Kedar Jadhav decided to step up.

On the first ball of the eight over, Rahane tried to cut a Samuel Badree ball late but Jadhav had already anticipated the batsman’s move. The 32-year-old recreated an exact replica of a Dhoni effort from last year, when the former Indian captain had saved his team four runs against Kings XI Punjab pulling off the same manoeuvre.

Not only did Jadhav lift the spirits of the RCB team by saving some valuable runs, the save also played a part in Rahane’s dismissal three balls later.
