Kings XI Punjab hosts the Mumbai Indians in the 22nd match of IPL 2017 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. While both teams will be looking to win, it will be for very different reasons, Mumbai to dislodge KKR from the top of the table, while Punjab will be looking to break into the playoff spots.

Kings XI Punjab narrowly went down to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on Monday and will be looking for an immediate response at home.

While Mumbai, on the other hand, will be looking to carry on their winning momentum after they comfortably beat the Gujarat Lions by 6 wickets at home on Sunday.

Head to Head:

Mumbai have won 5 of the 9 previous encounters between the sides.

Last Meeting:

Murali Vijay’s 54* helped Kings XI chase down the required target of 125 with 7 wickets and 3 overs to spare in Visakhapatnam.

Who will win?

Options : Mumbai Indians or Kings XI Punjab

KXIP and MI are equal in the IPL head-to-head so far. This season, MI have been one of the better sides, having lost only 1 game, while KXIP won 2 on the trot at the start, and then lost 3 consecutive games. MI go into this game with a confident bunch of players, while KXIP, despite suffering a close defeat against SRH, will have the “home advantage” at their adopted home, Indore’s Holkar Stadium, having not lost a game there yet.

The fans believe MI to be the better side, and that the "home advantage" will count for nothing.

Fan verdict : Mumbai Indians to win - 61%

Who will score more?

Options : Parthiv Patel or Wriddhiman Saha

Parthiv Patel averages 36.90 vs Kings XI Punjab but is averaging 18.90 this season with the scores of 19,30,39,3 and 0. Saha averages 28.80 against Mumbai Indians but is averaging 11.50 this season with the scores of 14,1,25,7 and 0. Parthiv Patel has had a good start to the innings but has not converted them into solid knocks.  He also holds an advantage over Saha as he is an opener, and hence has a higher probability of playing the powerplay fully.

The fans believe the battle of wicketkeepers will be won by experienced statesman, Parthiv Patel

Fan verdict : Parthiv to score more - 69%

Match number twenty of the IPL 2017. Thirteen overs into the match, RCB are cruising with 122 for no loss and the 'Universe boss' Chris Gayle is batting on 77 at a strike rate of a tad over 200. Nobody wants to bowl now. Nobody but Gujarat Lions’ Basil Thampi.
