The top 3 batsmen in SRH all scored half-centuries as they put up a stiff target of 207 in the first match held at Mohali this season. Losing 3 early wickets did not help Punjab, and the target simply went out of reach, despite brief resistance from Morgan, and Marsh's brilliant 84-run knock.

Brief Scores: Sunrisers Hyderabad 207/3 (Shikhar Dhawan 77, Kane Williamson 54*; Glenn Maxwell 2/29, Mohit Sharma 1/34) beat Kings XI Punjab 181/9 (Shaun Marsh 84, Eoin Morgan 26; Siddharth Kaul 3/36, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2/27) by 26 runs.

Starting off with a spot of humour

Seriously, what has he done to deserve this?

A record for Kings XI...if that..

This season IPL fans be like

That's gotta be embarrassing afterwards

Not much cricket left to discuss,Β I guess; this was discussed in great detail

The story of IPL's success

The Afghan star stepping it up

What a coincidence this is

That's gotta hurt as much as Yuvraj getting hit where it matters

No one is gonna go easy on him after that performance

No doubt they are at a different level

Punjab simply had no answer to the might of SRH’s top 3, as all of them plundered rapid half-centuries to help the defending champions set the home side a target of 208. Shaun Marsh led the Punjab charge with a brilliant 50-ball 84 but it proved to be vain as KXIP fell 26 runs short of the target.
