Ishant Sharma is one of the first players who gets trolled on social media even if he is not actually playing a cricket match. But the tall pacer does himself no favors as he showed against KXIP when he tried to roll the ball onto the stump, with his foot, only to miss the target by a few feet.

The incident occurred in the third over when Ishant, who had just been hit for a six by Shikhar Dhawan, cramped the SRH opener for room with an in swinging back of length delivery. Dhawan defended the ball well but was unable to hit the ball away from the pitch. David Warner, who was at the non-striker's end gave the call for a single but found Ishant outpacing him to the ball.

Just as DD pacer Kagiso Rabada had done against Mumbai Indians, Ishant reached the ball before the batsman and calmly side-footed the ball towards the stumps. The only problem was that while Rabada had been able to hit the stumps with deadly accuracy, Ishant missed it by a country mile.

But the fun wasn't done yet as having watched the replay of the attempt on the screen, Kings captain Glenn Maxwell couldn’t help but smile at the fiasco he had just witnessed. If Ishant wants to win over his captain, let along the Indian fans, he will certainly need to do better than that.
