RCB- DD game could be Shane Watson's last IPL game as a player

From winning the title with Rajasthan Royals in the first season the IPL in 2008 to languishing at the bottom of the table with RCB, ten years later, Shane Watson has seen it all in the IPL. Watson was the player of the tournament in the first edition, as he scored 462 runs and picked up 17 wickets in the inaugural season.

However, things have not gone to plan for the Australian and his franchise this season. And now, Watson could be all set to bid farewell to the IPL on Sunday. When asked about whether he would return for IPL 2018, Watson said, "In some capacity, yes,” as reported by the Times of India.

Although Watson admitted that he would love to continue playing for the moment, he would like to coach once his playing days are behind him.

"I haven't set myself a specific time period, it's more about how it evolves. There may be a time when hopefully I get a chance to coach somewhere and it just takes over from my playing days. I still love playing. I have the burning desire to perform well and contribute to a team getting better. But at some stage, there is going to be a point where I know it is going to be a transition into hopefully be able to coach. I love to help people out so it will be nice to be able to coach, I'm not sure how or when, but hopefully it comes through soon."

The 35-year old was one of the best allrounders in the world when RCB bought him for a whopping Rs 9.5 crore in the last season and he repaid the faith by scoring 179 runs and picking 20 wickets in 16 games.

However, he has been a pale shadow of his former self this year, scoring just 67 runs and picking up a paltry four wickets from 7 matches. And in a way, Watson’s individual performance is symbolic of RCB's collective performance this season, as the Bangalore side have managed just 2 wins from 13 games, so far, and almost certain to finish the tournament as the wooden spooners.
