WATCH | MS Dhoni tries to pull off yet another blind run out

Defending a modest target of 119, India knew that they needed something special to wrap up the series in Guwahati and MS Dhoni very nearly provided the same. The incident occurred on the second delivery of the very first over of Australia’s innings with Bhuvaneswar Kumar bowling to Aaron Finch. The Aussie pierced off side field and sent the ball towards cover point.

Manish Pandey chased the ball down and relayed to Kohli, who used all his force to throw it at the striker's end. Realizing the ball was short of the stumps and the batsmen could easily complete three runs on the delivery, Dhoni attacked the ball, moving away from the stumps, and in one swift motion, not only collected the ball but also threw it at the stumps through his own legs. As usual, the ball went on to hit the stumps. However, David Warner had managed to make his crease on time and added three runs to the scoreboard. 

Riding on Jason Behrendorff, Moises Henriques, and Travis Head’s performance, Australia won the match by eight wickets to level the 3-match T20I series at 1-1. The third and deciding T20I will be played in Hyderabad on October 13.
