WATCH : Glenn Maxwell imitates Virender Sehwag, Ravindra Jadeja and Steve Smith

After wielding his bat for a couple of virtual cover drives and square cuts, he was asked to imitate his skipper Steve Smith. Not only did he play his defensive strokes to perfection, his immaculate expression made for a fun watch. Maxwell also showcased his immaculate memory by copying a Smith hook beautifully before recreating Smith's unusual pre-shot ritual so perfectly that it would have made his skipper proud.

The Aussie all-rounder then went on to imitate former Sri Lankan batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan’s famous “Dilscoop” before doing another Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya’s square cut on the off-side. He was completely at home when being asked to replicate Brain Lara’s famous pull shot over square-leg as well.

“Big Show” perfectly imitated Virender Sehwag’s gorgeous cover drive before playing a virtual shot that Michael Bevan, one of the greatest finishers the game has ever seen, used to play in his heyday – cut shot to the wide of the wicket.

The funniest moment in the video came when Maxwell was asked to imitate Ravindra Jadeja and he started up with Jadeja’s famous Rajput-style swordplay but failed hilariously when the bat slipped out of his hand.  He also pulled off famous Aussie opener Justin Langer’s brilliant expression while facing the ball and imitated Langer’s partner Matthew Hayden’s down the line hit over mid-wicket.

The video was made by the Australian game studio, Big Ant, which has worked in conjunction with Cricket Australia and England & Wales Cricket Board to create the most authentic cricket experience ever seen in a video game, and that will feature both the men’s and women’s teams from Australia and England and will be available on the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC in November. 

The cameras take one million photos, which are then stitched together by an algorithm to create a player’s in-game likeness. There’s then approximately 15 hours more work required on each player before they’re considered ready to play.
