VIDEO | Tim Paine trolls Rishabh Pant over MS Dhoni’s comeback to ODI team; offers him a role at Hobart Hurricanes
When the dust has finally settled and the series review is written, there would definitely be a special chapter for Tim Paine and Rishabh Pant. Today, Paine gave Pant a taste of his own medicine by trolling him about his absence from the ODI squad and offered him a Hobart Hurricanes contract.
Australia had been tangled by India’s assortment of bowlers and when the visiting team decided not to enforce the follow-on, it surprised everyone given India hadn’t bowled that many overs as compared to their Australian counterparts and also the weather forecast for tomorrow wasn’t promising.
That cost India from the word go as Pat Cummins bowled one of the most devastating spells in Test cricket history by sending India’s top-four by conceding only a couple of runs. That pumped Paine big-time and when Pant arrived at the crease, he sensed an opportunity to have a go against the Indian keeper and trolled him over MS Dhoni's return to the ODI side.
“Tell you what, if Big MS is back in the one-day squad, we might get him down to the Hobart Hurricanes, this bloke. We need a batter,” Paine chipped from behind the stumps.
On seeing Pant not replying to the comments, he immediately said, “Fancy that? You can extend a nice Aussie holiday. Beautiful town, Hobart, too. We can get you a nice apartment on the waterfront... You can extend your stay here.”
Pant knew the severe repercussion of replying and decided not to say a word back. Paine, however, continued and said, “Do you babysit? I’ll take my wife to the movies one night and you can babysit.”

In the first innings as well, the Aussie skipper tried to distract Rohit Sharma with some IPL banter and asked him to hit a six so as to make him a Mumbai Indians supporter.
