Delhi Daredevils could be in for a frustrating evening after their must-win match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday is under potential rain threat, as per weather reports. Delhi have managed just two wins from their last eight games and are currently struggling at the bottom of the table.

Though the league hasn’t come to a stage where the teams face a do-or-die situation, such has been the pressure on every side at each end of the table that every win in the remaining games would influence the race for the top four massively. While Delhi are yet to start their campaign properly with just 4 points from 8 games, Rajasthan sit below Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore with a game in hand and a win could send them draw level on points with KKR.

Delhi have attempted to bring in a breath of fresh air to the side by experimenting with young Shreyas Iyer as their new captain. However, while his vibrant self worked brilliantly against KKR, he got a reality check against Chennai Super Kings. And now, ahead of their crucial home game against Rajasthan, weather department has predicted a hot evening with rain.

According to skymetweather, the pre-monsoon activities are likely to start from May 2 over Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. The match at Feroz Shah Kotla could see dust storm and thunderstorm followed by light rain. Sharing point apiece would be the last thing Iyer is looking for at the moment, which could only be worsened by D/L method taking the game out of their hands.
