India have decided to replace Ajinkya Rahane with KL Rahul for the ODI series against England in July on the back of the latter’s recent IPL exploits. The BCCI have also brought back Ambati Rayudu, who last played an ODI in June 2016, while awarding Siddarth Kaul with a spot in the team as well.

After playing Afghanistan in a one-off Test in Bengaluru from June 14 to 18, India will travel Europe to take part four different series against two different nations. While the team will take on Ireland in a two-match T20I series first, they will travel to England to play three T20Is, which will be followed by a three-match ODIs and a five-match Test series.

The series for the limited-overs leg of the England tour has a drastic influence of the IPL as Siddarth Kaul, who has been excellent in the last two seasons of the IPL, has got a call-up to the team. The Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer has picked up a total of 16 wickets in 10 games in the last edition of the league and has so far picked 13 wickets in the 10 in the ongoing season.

Apart from Kaul, Rayudu, who has set the IPL stage on fire and has been instrumental in many a Chennai Super Kings victories this season, has also been picked in the team for the first time after 2016. From 10 matches so far, Rayudu has already scored 423 runs at a strike rate of 151.61 and will hope the continue the same performance when he returns to England - the same country where he rose to prominence with a swashbuckling 177 for India Under-19 team in 2002.
