Shane Warne has put his confidence in Virat Kohli predicting that the Indian skipper would have an unbelievable series when India tour England and Ireland in July this year. Warne added that the even legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara could not do what Kohli is doing right now.

Team India are gearing up to face off against one of their most fierce opponents in recent years - the England Cricket team. Virat Kohli & Co. are scheduled to kick-off their 2019 ODI World Cup preparations with the tour of England and Ireland slated for the month of July this year. The squad list for the limited overs series is already out and the boys will look to skipper Kohli for some much needed inspiration on foreign soil.

Despite Kohli’s dominance on the global stage, one country that the Delhi-born batsman has failed to perform in was England. But Australian spin legend Shane Warne opined that all that would change after July as Kohli was set to have an unbelievable series in the United Kingdom.

"India face England first; perhaps the only place which Virat hasn’t yet nailed. And I think he will nail England this year. I think Virat will have an unbelievable series in England which will hold him in good stead in Australia also,”  Warne told India Today.

India will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and five Tests during the course of their time in England. This will be followed by a trip to Australia sometime during December-January. Warne further lavished praise on Kohli, who already has 35 ODI centuries to his name, just 14 behind Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar (49), stating that not even legends like Tendulkar and Lara could emulate what Kohli does while batting second in a match.

“I think the way Virat plays and you look at his numbers and it's uncanny how many times he has got hundreds in ODI cricket chasing totals down. I don't think anyone, not even Sachin could do what Virat's done. We know Sachin and Brian Lara were the two best players of all time in our generation. But Virat and AB de Villiers; it's very difficult to separate those guys,” Warne added.
