If there is one thing an India-Australia series is famous for, apart from good cricket, it is the onfield 'banter'. While Justin Langer’s “elite honesty” has somehow reduced that, Mitchell Starc has found a new way as he decided to banter with the umpire after DRS overturned his decision.

Just hours after Alyssa Healy, the Southern Stars wicket-keeper, made her return to the international side and helped Australia women’s win the World T20 title today, her husband Mitchell Starc made his comeback to the Aussie set-up for the T20I series in a bid to stop India’s unbeaten T20 series juggernaut.

Australia gave a target of 165 runs for India to chase down in 20 overs and Shikhar Dhawan gave a great start to the innings. The onus was on Starc to stop India to walk away from the innings, and he did that brilliantly. He bowled a 145 kph delivery on the third ball of the sixth over which nipped in sharply when Dhawan got forward, trying to keep his bat close to his pad in order to defend. However, in the process, he got struck on the pad first, which made the Australians interested for the LBW dismissal.

But the umpire denied straight away, but Starc was confident enough which made Aaron Finch go for the review. While many had apprehensions that the ball might have struck on the pads first, hawk-eye revealed that it hit the leg-stump, which was sufficient enough for the third umpire to overturn the decision and declare the batsman out.

While Sunil Gavaskar, on TV commentary, had doubts over the decision stating it would no way go on to hit the stumps, for Starc, it was a moment to joke as he was seen bantering with the umpire, maybe about his DRS abilities.
