VIDEO | Virat Kohli projects embarrassing face after horrendous review

Virat Kohli has been weird in his review decision as a skipper and lived up to his bad reputations once again in the third ODI. After a Jasprit Bumrah delivery pitched outside the leg stump, the Indian skipper went for the review, only to be left embarrassed after seeing the review on the screen.

It should be a common consensus for a captain that believe a pacer for a review confirmation and when the bowler is as unorthodox as Jasprit Bumrah, it is better not to ask. However, there is another scene. If the captain is as biased as Virat Kohli, it is futile to expect any sort of logic. He would do what his players feel is right.

On the last delivery of the fourth over, Bumrah managed to get the ball to skid off the deck and Chandrapaul Hemraj was rapped on the pads. Bumrah had a loud appeal for the same, but the umpire ruled it out thinking the ball missed the leg-stump. However, the bowler convinced Kohli to go for the review and the Indian skipper didn’t waste a moment to go upstairs.

However, what ball tracking showed put Kohli to shame. The ball was pitched outside leg and the third umpire Ian Gould ruled the decision in the batsman’s favour. When the replays were played out on the screen, the Indian skipper was embarrassed and smilingly pointed fingers at the pacer.
