Rohit Sharma has explained that every game in the IPL season 12 is now important for the Mumbai Indians after they lost the first two of their opening three in the tournament. The Mumbai skipper also mentioned that Jason Behrendorff’s spell did set the tone for the team against CSK yesterday.

Mumbai have won two out of their four games in the 12th edition of the IPL so far and their skipper Rohit has stated that every game from here on would be important for the side. The first game that the team played was against Delhi Capitals where they were defeated before putting up a great show to win against RCB. However, they were seen losing to KXIP in the third game again.

However, the Mumbai-based franchise registered a comprehensive victory against CSK yesterday which has taken them only to the sixth place on the table.

"I think every game we play in the IPL is important. Having lost two games at the start, suddenly every match becomes important. We don't want to keep that task of having to win many games at the end; it's really difficult. We just wanted to play the brand of cricket Mumbai Indians are known for. We just kept ourselves in the game all the way through and those are good signs," Rohit said after the win against CSK, reported IANS.

Defending only 170 that they put up on the board, thanks to some amazing power hitting by Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard, Behrendorff provided a great start to the home team by getting rid of Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson in his first two overs.

"Jason has been great for Australia with the new ball and we all know what he is capable of. Did the same for us and his spell early on set the tone," the Mumbai skipper explained.

"I thought 170 was a fighting total here because you never know. We knew that there was something in the pitch and if we could knock wickets early, things could work. That's exactly what happened. We didn't start off well with the bat but we finished really well. With the ball, we were extremely clinical. To defend a 170 score at Wankhede, you need to be really good with the ball and we were with the fielding also being extremely efficient. That's why I can't pinpoint a single match-changing event; there were so many of them."
