Chennai Super Kings batting coach Michael Hussey revealed that Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out for the next two weeks from the IPL after suffering from a Grade I hamstring tear. Bravo functioned as a ‘death-over’ specialist in the CSK squad and managed to pick seven wickets from four games.

Chennai Super Kings will be without the services of veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for the next two weeks after having suffered a grade I hamstring tear revealed batting coach Michael Hussey. Hussey confirmed the news a day prior to CSK’s scheduled clash with Ravichandran Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab.

"It's going to cause a little bit of rejigging of the team but I am sure we are going to be able to put together a very strong team. It's a big loss but we have had these challenges in the past. Let's hope we can do this again," said Hussey, as per Cricbuzz sources.

Bravo was a crucial figure in the CSK bowling department and was handed the major responsibility of bowling in the ‘death overs’. The Windies cricketer picked up seven wickets from the four games that he played in this season.

Hussey is optimistic that skipper MS Dhoni and coach Stephen Fleming will make the right decision as to who should replace Bravo in the playing XI for the next two weeks at least.

"I am sure MS and Fleming will be looking at Scott Kuggeleijn and assessing his death bowling skills. We've got Shardul . Mohit can bowl at the death as well. It's about assessing the conditions. If it's turning, I think one of the spinners can bowl at the death. I am sure there will be a lot of strategic thinking and it's a key area of the game," Hussey added.

Earlier, South Africa pacer Lungi Ngidi was also ruled out of this season’s IPL with an injury while England cricketer David Willey opted against participating in the tournament this year due to the birth of his second child.
