It was pretty much like rolling the clock back to the past when Dale Steyn put up an exhibition of fine swing bowling at Chinnaswamy tonight. Once he managed to disturb Suresh Raina’s furniture with an inch-perfect yorker, even Ashish Nehra couldn’t believe it and gestured in an amusing manner.

Dale Styen proved what Royal Challengers Bangalore were missing all this while as he made the ball move in both ways in the air while ensuring that the yorkers and bouncers were unleashed with equal ease. In the first over itself, Steyn induced an edge off Shane Watson’s blade to send him back for five and while CSK had lofty expectations from their vice-captain, the South African managed to give double whammy to the three-time champions.

On the last ball of the first over, Raina hung on the backfoot, expecting a short ball, but Steyn was too good a bowler to be so predictable. He made a slight adjustment to his line and pitched it up so full that Raina didn’t have any other option than trying to block it on its path.

However, the pace of the ball made the CSK No.3 dance on his position and eventually exposed all three stumps. Steyn instantly started celebrating as the ball hit the off and middle stumps, but the best reactions came from Virat Kohli and Ashish Nehra. Kohli jumped on the South African and the duo hugged each other for a good five seconds, and when the camera panned towards the dug-out, Nehra was seen being amused by the brilliance of that delivery while Colin de Grandhomme smiled at his reaction.
