Chris Gayle has heaped praise on KL Rahul and hopes he produces performances like Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Both Gayle and Rahul have been in scintillating form and have done well to get their side good starts on a constant basis, their primary goal would be to help KXIP to make it to playoffs.

Chris Gayle has stated that his Kings XI Punjab opening partner KL Rahul has the potential to achieve great heights in the world of cricket just like Virat Kohli. Rahul has overcome a huge barrier in his career in recent times and has been instrumental for KXIP in the ongoing season.

Rahul’s cricket career got a massive boost after being named in the 15-man Indian World Cup squad. His form with the bat has been fruitful and along with Gayle, they have formed an impactful opening pair. Virat Kohli has been scaling newer heights in recent times and Gayle feels that Rahul has the potential to do well as well.

"KL is definitely one of the players that comes to my mind, I hope he produces the goods like Virat. After Virat, it should be him. You have a lot of talent, I could go on and on and most of them don’t even get the opportunity,” said Gayle, reported PTI.

Gayle further spoke about the work ambience with KXIP and how he is enjoying his time here.

“Two years I have been here and it has been phenomenal. I love the Punjab style. I am getting to work with a great bunch of people and hopefully, we can do something special for the franchise. The aim is get to the play-offs and take it from there,” Gayle said.
