Virat Kohli and KL Rahul climb ladder in T20I rankings after Windies heroics

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul jumped up spots in ICC T20I rankings after their outstanding run of form in the just-concluded T20I series against West Indies. After the third and final encounter, Rahul has jumped three spots to be at number six while skipper Kohli climbed five spots to enter the top ten.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been the star performers for India in the 2-1 series win against West Indies yesterday. On Wednesday, India went with series being levelled at 1-all for the final encounter in Mumbai.

With Wankhede being the happy hunting ground for Team India, opener’s Rahul and Rohit Sharma went all guns blazing. After the openers’ destructive start, skipper Kohli joined the party and finished the demolition task in hand striking well above 200.

By the virtue of their brilliant outing in the series, both Rahul and Kohli climbed spots in the ICC T20I rankings that were released on Thursday. Rahul has jumped three spots to secure sixth place while Kohli, who is currently the number one batsman in both ODI and Test format has jumped five spots to enter top 10 T20I batsmen list.

Virat Kohli, who was the Man of the Match in the first T20I of the series for his brilliant 94 not out saw India chase a steep target of 208. Kohli finished with 183 runs in the series that saw him return with the Man of the Series award.
