If there is one innings that Ambati Rayudu would want to forget, then it had to be this one as the Indian No.4 played a scratchy innings of 24 runs. However, when his innings came to an end through Glenn Maxwell, the latter gave an earful to the Indian for the reasons only known to him.

It was one of those days where Rayudu looked awfully uncomfortable at the crease and played mistimed shots like a hobby. He gave enough opportunities to Australian bowlers to dismiss him, but luckily survived to score as many runs as he did. Seeing all their plans nearly coming close, but failing almost all the time, Australian bowlers turned desperate for his wicket.

By the time 31st over arrived, Rayudu grew restless and decided to use his feet against Maxwell and swiped over mid-wicket to release some pressure. But the ball was nowhere close to the middle of the bat and taking the benefit of the same, Marcus Stoinis, who was fielding at deep mid-wicket, took the simple catch down the throat to end Rayudu’s non-promising innings.

That was a moment of celebration for the Australians who had created a lot of chances by then but failed to break the partnership between Rayudu and Virat Kohli. The dismissal also gave Glenn Maxwell a moment to celebrate as he utter few words as a send-off to Rayudu. After taking a couple of steps towards his teammates, the Aussie turned around again and threw a few more choice words at the Indian batsman.
