Jasprit Bumrah is a pace bowling anomaly as he doesn’t swirl or sledge, and with a smile on his face, he produces some of the lethal deliveries a pacer can bowl. Today was no different apart from the fact that he gave a smiling sendoff to Axar Patel after being hit for a four on the previous ball.

Bumrah had a tough day in the middle and his lethal yorkers were coming out nicely in the first spell. Countering him was as difficult for Delhi batsmen as it has always been, but when his Gujarat statemate Axar Patel managed to hit him for a four over backward point and wide of third man, it had stirred Bumrah a bit and he was determined not to let Patel score any more runs.

On the very next delivery of the same over, Bumrah banged a short of good length delivery to invite Patel to take the risk against the delivery. Of course, Patel fell right into the trap as he threw his bat on the up and the attempt to play the cheeky upper-cut proved to be the death keel for the batsman.

Rasikh Salam was stationed at third man and he didn’t make any mistake in judging the catch and end Patel’s stay in the middle. While the Delhi Capitals’ player was frustrated by that, Bumrah decided to show who was the boss as he looked back to Patel to give back some words, with the smile still being so intact on his face.
