As per ESPN Cricinfo, Kedar Jadhav’s World Cup spot is expected to be safe after the all-rounder suffered a mistimed injury during CSK’s final league game in the IPL. There were speculations regarding Jadhav’s participation in the World Cup after he was ruled out from the remainder of the IPL.

Kedar Jadhav’s run in the IPL came to an untimely end after suffering from a shoulder injury during Chennai Super Kings' encounter against Kings XI Punjab. However, the bigger concern here was his participation in the upcoming World Cup in England and Wales, which is now expected to be safe.

Jadhav suffered a mistimed shoulder injury after diving at the boundary while saving an over-throw from Ravindra Jadeja. Earlier, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has ruled out the possibility of Jadhav being available for the IPL and also mentioned that the Indian physio is working closely with the all-rounder.

“Well, he is out for us, and then it is just about being accurate with that assessment. He was going through the scans and working with Patrick Farhart (the Indian team physiotherapist), so there's obviously one eye now on the World Cup and getting him fit. But from our point of view, he is certainly out of the tournament," Fleming said, reported TOI.

As per a report on ESPNCricinfo, Jadhav’s injury is not that threatening as it was feared to be and should recover before the World Cup and India will keep his spot safe as of now. The report also added that the selection panel have received an update from Farhart that says Jadhav should be fit before the team leaves for England. If Jadhav fails to recover on time, the selectors will name a replacement from the list of standbys.

Jadhav has been a vital cog in India’s white ball cricket and has done well with his explosive batting and more than handy spin-bowling. Jadhav is expected to play a key role in the upcoming World Cup for the Men in Blue.
