IND vs SA | Haven’t spoken to Sourav Ganguly since he was elected president, reveals Virat Kohli
India captain Virat Kohli has said that he has not met or had a word with the new BCCI president Sourav Ganguly yet. Kohli, however, did reveal that he has congratulated the former India skipper on his election and being the president Ganguly will get in touch with him when need be.
While the Indian captain had finished answering a series of questions regarding the recently concluded South Africa series which the hosts won by 3-0, Kohli was also asked a series of questions about two former India captains- MS Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly.
With the latter being recently elected as the new BCCI president, the hype related to that has been huge. And again, as Dhoni’s return to the Indian setup is still a mystery. Connecting these two, Kohli was asked at the presser whether Ganguly’s has had a meeting with the selectors and him to discuss stuff including Dhoni’s future.
To this, Kohli’s answer was that he congratulated Ganguly on his appointment but hasn’t spoken to him regarding MS Dhoni or anything at all.
“I congratulated him. It’s great that he has become the BCCI president but he has not spoken to me about that yet. He’ll get in touch with me when he has to. I am sure. What do I say about that? I’ll go meet him when he tells me to. That’s it,” Kohli said, reported ESPN Cricinfo.
