The BCCI senior selection committee have announced two different teams for the multi-day matches against South Africa A to be played from September 9 and Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha have been picked as captains. While Gill will lead in the first game, Saha will helm the team in the second.

After announcing two different teams for the ODIs, the selection committee decided to take their experimentation to another level by announcing two vastly different squads for the multi-day matches. Only seven players - Gill, Anmolpreet Singh, Shahbaz Nadeem, Mohammad Siraj, Shivam Dube, K Gowtham, Vijay Shankar - are set to feature in both games, which will be led by Gill and Saha respectively.

"The Committee has picked two different teams for two games considering the ongoing Duleep Trophy and those members who are likely to feature in the final to be played between India Red and India Green have therefore been picked in the squad for second India A match. Accordingly, Rahul Chahar will be replaced by Mayank Markande in the India Green team and Ishan Kishan will return to the India Red team for Duleep Trophy final," said a media release from BCCI on Sunday (September 1).

Gill will lead a relatively younger side with the likes of Rituraj Gaekwad, Ricky Bhui, Ankit Bawne and Tushar Deshpande being a part of the first match while Saha has more experience in his team with Umesh Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav being a part of the squad.

India A squad for 1st match: Shubman Gill (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Anmolpreet Singh, Ricky Bhui, Ankeet Bawne, KS Bharat (wicket-keeper), K Gowtham, Shahbaz Nadeem, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dube, Vijay Shankar
