India Women tour of Australia | Mithali Raj to lead India in historic Day-Night Test as BCCI announces squads

Mithali Raj will be seen leading the women's team in the historic one-off Day-Night Test versus Australia Women, while Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to captain the T20I side. The Eves will play their first ever Day-Night Test at the WACA, Perth from September 30 to October 3.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, announced India women squads for the one-off Test, ODI and T20I series for their tour of Australia. which will be played from September 19 to October 11. Veteran batter Mithali Raj has been named the captain for the historic Day-Night Test and the ODI series. Harmanpreet Kauri will lead the visitors in the T20I series.

India Women play their first-ever Day-Night Test at the WACA in Perth from September 30 to October 3. India are heading into the historic Test on the back of an impressive draw against England in Bristol in June this year. While big names, including Harmanpreet Kauri, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verna and Jhulan Goswami have retained their spots, Sneh Rana, star of the Bristol Test finds a place in the Test and ODI squad as well after an impressive tour of England.

Left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad makes her way back into the squad while the likes of Priya Punia and Indrani Roy miss out.

There aren't many surprises in the T20I squad with Richa Ghosh taking care of the wicketkeeping duties. Renuka Singh Thakur and Yastika Bhatia are the new faces in the T20I squad.

India Women's T20I squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (Captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Yastika Bhatia, Shikha Pandey, Meghna Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav, Richa Ghosh (wicket-keeper), Harleen Deol, Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Renuka Singh Thakur.
