PAK vs BAN | Twitter reacts to furious Shakib punish Rizwan with intended headshot for wasting time

A monotonous disturbance can often trigger a person to opt for violent measures. For an individual as ill-tempered as Shakib Al Hasan, it doesn’t take time to take such actions for an irritating factor as the all-rounder did on the last day of the first test against Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan.

The overnight batters, Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood did negate the Bangladeshi bowlers for half an hour in the morning session before Hasan Mahmud’s disciplined bowling got the better of the Pakistan skipper. While Babar Azam tried to soak pressure with Shafique, the former’s dismissal in the 26th over paved the way for a collapse with the middle order struggling against quality spin.

On the first ball of the 33rd over, Shakib bowled a fuller one at Rizwan that the batter failed to time a sweep. While Najmul Hossain Shanto, the Bangladeshi skipper, was late to go upstairs, the next minute, an unprecedented event took center stage. Rizwan seemed almost ready to face the next ball from the bowler but pulled off at the last moment when the left-arm spinner was about to release.

Agitated by Rizwan’s antics, Shakib threw the ball towards the head of the batter but fortunately, the red cherry marooned over Rizwan en route to the keeper Litton Kumar Das. Rizwan seemed unpleased by this gesture from the Bangladeshi veteran and umpire Richard Kettleborough stared at him as well. However, the right-hander had issues with the sight screen in the previous innings and did pull off from facing the ball quite often earlier. The frustration might have piled up from a long time which could be the reason behind Shakib’s move. However, the all-rounder’s attempt didn’t go well with a lot and the Twitterverse was vividly left abuzz.
