IND vs PAK | Twitter abuzz as itchy Kohli chases outside off delivery as Naseem draws first blood

Few individuals thrive under pressure and Virat Kohli is a good example to cite when it comes to the field of cricket. However, the Indian stalwart saw a rare downfall on a bigger stage as he gifted away his wicket to Naseem Shah in the mega clash between India and Pakistan in New York.

Winning the toss after a rain delay, Babar Azam elected to field first and the showers returned to halt play after eight runs in the first over that included a Rohit Sharma six off Shaheen Afridi. As the play resumed after a while, Naseem Shah was summoned to deliver with the white cherry from the opposite end and the young gun did not disappoint his captain after drawing the first blood.

Having already smashed a four off the first ball of the second over, Kohli looked to chase the line outside the off for a second time in a gap of two balls. The former India captain tried to slash a good length delivery off Naseem but failed to middle it as the ball swung away after sticking to the surface. The stroke didn’t come out well and the ball scooted straight to Usman Khan at point who grabbed onto it with firm hands. Kohli has been dismissed several times while chasing outside the stumps and seeing the 35-year-old similarly throw his wicket off a nothing delivery, the Twitterverse erupted.

Sad

He just won't

The worst

Too fast

Demote him

It's not the same

Congratulations
