Injuries are a part and parcel of an athlete's career but recurring injuries can be pathetic. A similar happened with Chennai Super Kings’ Deepak Chahar who was seen struggling after bowling a couple of deliveries in the first over versus Punjab Kings at the M. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

‌The decision to bowl first paid dividends to Punjab Kings after their pacers started off the innings economically followed by the spin duo of Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar curbing down the run rate to eventually, restrict CSK to 162/7 in 20 overs. With the dew to play a part, the defence seemed an uphill task for the CSK and the woes were further amplified with one of CSK’s lead pacers getting injured.

Following a dot ball and a four towards the square of the wicket on the off side on a widish delivery, Chahar looked to find his rhythm back in the first over of the second innings. However, just as the Rajasthan pacer was about to load for the delivery release after the run-up, he tottered around the popping crease. Looking at his condition, it seemed like he either pulled off the calf or hamstring, eventually, leaving the field without bowling any further. With Mustafizur Rahman set to leave for national duties after the match and Deepak Chahar getting injured after a Matheesha Pathirana niggle, the Twitterverse exploded.

Chahar heads back!

This is sad
