Mega tournaments like the Indian Premier League often gain a lot of attention due to the star-studded players participating in it. However, the MS Dhoni cheers during CSK’s clash against PBKS in Dharamsala caved into a moment of silence with Harshal Patel cleaning the 42-year-old for a golden duck.

Winning the toss, the Super Kings’ poor start was recovered by a 57-run second-wicket stand between Daryl Mitchell and Ruturaj Gaiwkad. However, Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel turned the tides for Punjab before Ravindra Jadeja seemed like a lone warrior with wickets falling from the other end, including Harshal Patel removing MS Dhoni for golden duck.

Having already bowled Shardul Thakur on the third ball of the 19th over, Harshal produced a moment of magic on the next delivery to befuddle MS Dhoni. He came over the wicket and dished a dipping off-cutter right on the money. The former CSK captain was early into a slog and ended up getting beaten on the outside edge to watch the ball clatter onto the stumps. This was the second time in IPL 2024 that Dhoni has been dismissed, after a run-out in their last game. Seeing the megastar depart for a golden duck off Harshal Patel, here’s how the Twitter army reacted.
