It's not easy to maintain a consistent run of performances for a long period. A similar happened with Chennai Super Kings’ Shivam Dube who failed to get off the mark on back-to-back games against Punjab Kings after his selection in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup in West Indies and the US.

‌Winning the toss and opting to field first did work well for the Punjab Kings when the spinners came into the attack after the powerplay. Although Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell stabilized the early setback with a 57-run second-wicket partnership, the introduction of Rahul Chahar in the eighth over turned the table, leading to a Shivam Dube golden duck on a trot.

Dube was trapped in front by Harpreet Brar the last time they faced off in Chepauk. In his next match, Chahar bowled a length delivery outside the off stump that the left-hander tried to cut without much foot movement. Dube ended up getting a top edge on the googly due to some extra bit of bounce, with Jitesh Sharma taking a regulation catch. With the all-rounder getting dismissed for golden ducks on successive matches against the same opposition, following his selection in the World Cup squad, the Twitterverse exploded.
