It's not unusual to be influenced by your captain — sometimes, it leads to funny moments. Punjab skipper Shreyas Iyer was clearly channeling India skipper Rohit Sharma when he forgot the changes in his squad at the toss while leading Punjab against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mullanpur.

‌Fresh off an unforgettable defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings were eager to bounce back and climb the points table. In contrast, Kolkata Knight Riders arrived with momentum on their side after a morale-boosting win against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai. The stage was set at the newly built stadium in Mullanpur as both captains walked in for the toss and things quickly took a light-hearted turn.

Presenter Harsha Bhogle introduced the skippers, and Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss, choosing to bat first. But when Bhogle asked about the changes in his playing XI, Iyer responded with a grin, “Batting first... I don’t remember the changes. I’ll tell you later.”

The moment drew instant comparisons to Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who’s famously forgetful in the most amusing ways. Social media lit up, with many fans joking that Iyer was clearly channeling Rohit’s energy.

He just forget!
