IND vs ENG | Twitter reacts to pro-active Salt’s costly misjudgment with Duckett ends in calamitous runout

Vivid communication is not just a key in the corporate world but also the sporting world. This was evident during the first ODI between India and England when Phil Salt’s proactiveness and miscommunication with his partner gifted the home side with the first breakthrough in the first innings.
India and England squared up for the first of the three ODIs eyeing as a preparatory measure for the forthcoming Champions Trophy. Openers, Ben Duckett and Phil Salt offered a blistering start in the first few overs with 26 runs coming off the sixth over of the first innings. As the duo looked in control of the game, a miscalculation intent of running between the wickets allowed the Indian side to get away with the first wicket.
England were 71 for no loss at the cusp of the eighth over when captain Rohit Sharma summoned Hardik Pandya with the ball. As a second-change bowler, he tried to maintain good line before dishing a back of a length delivery at the stumps that Salt punched towards square of the wicket on the off side. Shreyas Iyer from point sprinted a long way to block the ball from reaching the ropes with a sliding effort before making a sharp throw at the keeper’s end. Meanwhile, Salt was quick between the wickets and completed two runs before hurling for a third. By that time, Duckett only completed the second run and sent his partner back. By the time Salt looked back to return to the crease, the ball settled in KL Rahul’s gloves and he whipped the bails off in a jiffy. Clearly, Salt was dejected and annoyed with the dismissal as he trudged off the field nodding his head, leaving the Twitterverse in a stir.

ROFL!😂😂
Phil Salt while playing at Nagpur tried to run to Dambulla en-route Peshawar, had a terrible mixup, got out at 43 as a tribute to Sri Lanka's 43 all-out in an ODI innings. 😂 #Team43 🇱🇰🇵🇰#INDvsENG
