Few individuals follow the trend, and then comes Virat Kohli, who is a trend himself due to his antics and performances. Yet again, he was one of the most followed individuals on the field, with a misfielding troll against Shreyas Iyer during the India versus New Zealand clash being a highlight.

Being put to bat first after Rohit Sharma’s third consecutive loss during the toss, India were in a spot of bother after the score read 30/3 midway through the powerplay. Resilience from Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer stabilised the stage before a collapse followed. But Hardik Pandya’s run-a-ball 45 ensured India reached a fighting 249 on a tricky surface. Eyeing to chase down the total, the Black Caps lost Rachin Ravindra and Will Young inside the powerplay before Kane Williamson’s grit gleamed in the middle of the pitch.  However, during the course of play, Kohli left the social media buzzing with his weird antics on the field.

The former Indian captain seemed busy in the field on the day despite a building third-wicket stand between Williamson and Daryl Mitchell. One of the incidents involved a mimicry of misfield from Shreyas. The Mumbaikar was trying to stop a rolling ball inside the close-in circle, which ended up as a half-stop, and the ball looped up around him. However, Iyer lost track of the ball suddenly and fretfully searched for it around him before spotting it right in front of his feet. Kohli, who was backing up at the same time, strolled towards the Mumbaikar and shared a few words. Eventually, he was seen mimicking Shreyas’ misfielding at the centre of the field by flinging his arms around, leaving the Twitterverse in laughs.
