Nepal beat Scotland by seven wickets in their last Group C game of the 2026 T20 World Cup in Mumbai on Tuesday. The win helped Nepal end the marquee event on a high and also gifted hundreds of spirited fans, who gathered at the Wankhede Stadium, some historic and memorable moments.

‌Nepal broke the T20 World Cup duck 12 years after making their debut in the 2014 edition in Bangladesh, with a seven-wicket win over Scotland in Mumbai on Tuesday. Despite being a dead rubber and the result having no consequences to their last-place finish in the Group C points table, the Nepal fans had, as usual, swelled up in numbers at the Wankhede Stadium.

And the players made it a point to grind out a positive result for them as the medium pace duo of Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav picked up five wickets between them to keep Scotland to 170/7 after putting them in. In reply, the Asian outfit slid to 98/3 despite a 74-run opening wicket stand between Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh.

However, all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee’s unbeaten 23-ball half-century, which included four fours and three sixes, took the side home in the last over, with four balls to spare. Just as the winning runs were scored by Gulsan Jha, the crowd went berserk, turning the venue a home away from home.

As the players celebrated in the dugout, the fans rallied right behind them, waving their national flags and letting out thunderous roars. Unsurprisingly, Gulsan did not forget to acknowledge their spirit and efforts as he joined both hands and bowed his head in their direction.

A memorable moment for the fans!
