A minor fire broke out in the garden lawn outside the Perth Stadium during the BBL Qualifier game between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers on Tuesday. However, the security personnel acted quickly to douse the fire and avoided a major accident as the game proceeded without any interruptions.

‌‌The Perth Scorchers had a slow start after being put into bat by the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League Qualifier at Perth Stadium on Tuesday. With Mitchell Marsh falling early, the mantle fell on fellow opener Finn Allen to provide the early push to the hosts’ innings.

The Kiwi batter obliged with a 30-ball 49, which included four sixes and two fours, as he added 58 runs with Aaron Hardie for the second wicket. But his dismissal triggered a collapse as the home side slipped to 101/6 in the 15th over.

Just then, a thick blanket of smoke emerged from the garden lawn outside the ground, sending shockwaves among fans and viewers. There was a small fire that led to the spread of smoke, alerting the security personnel.

The officials acted quickly to douse the fire in a short while, to the relief of panicking fans in and around the stadium. Twitter was relieved as there were no casualties reported, and the game continued without any interruptions.
