Marizanne Kapp almost bowled Smriti Mandhana out in the WPL match against RCB in Vadodara. With the umpire denying an LBW appeal from the Delhi Capitals pacer, captain Jemimah Rodrigues immediately went for the review, but replays confirmed that the pacer’s front foot went outside the line.

‌With the Delhi Capitals putting the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in after winning the toss in the Women’s Premier League game in Vadodara, the opening duo of Smriti Mandhana and Grace Harris had a cautious start. The new ball pair of Chinelle Henry and Marizanne Kapp swung the ball and were accurate with their line and length in the first two overs.

Kapp had an amazing opportunity to add something to the wickets column as her inswinging delivery pitched on a good length before bypassing Mandhana’s attempted flick to crash into her pads. Though Kapp and the close-in fielders made a voracious appeal, the umpire stood unmoved as he nodded his head in the negative.

Despite losing a review two balls earlier for a caught behind appeal, captain Jemimah Rodrigues was gutsy as she opted for the second andfinal review. But the warning bell for the front foot no-ball blared, and Delhi’s review was not proceeded with.

Just after completing her over and walking back to her fielding position, the giant screen came up with the replay of the ball-tracking. And the veteran pacer was absolutely disgusted, letting out her rage with a roar as Mandhana would be on her way back if not for the overstepping.

Twitter was in disbelief as Kapp had no one to blame but herself, gifting a reprieve to the in-form batter.

No ball!

Frustration

Unlucky!

On fire!

Heated up!

Unreal!

Yeah!

Out of form!

Boundary!

Oh!

Tress planted!
