Royal Challengers Bengaluru are once again the defending champions. The team won its second title in less than 12 months, as they defeated Gujarat Titans in the final. Virat Kohli played a match winning knock, as he received the POTM award.

Before the IPL 2026 started, the RCB team looked confident as they said that they are not defending champions, they are attacking champions. At that time, none of the teams would have believed them. But now all of the teams have started to congratulate them for winning the Indian Premier League in two consecutive seasons.

Yesterday, the team went against Gujarat Titans in the final clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Patidar won the toss and decided to bowl first. Gujarat Titans didn't do well against the pace attack of RCB, led by Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Despite Washington Sundar scoring a 50, Gujarat managed to score 155/8 in 20 overs.

RCB started off well in the chase, with Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli taking advantage of the powerplay. After Venky lost his wicket, a collapse followed. But Virat Kohli stayed till the end, scoring 75 runs in the chase and helping RCB to win its second IPL title.

Here's how Twitter has reacted to this win.

DK Being Honest

RCB is looking a lot stronger than it ever was. And at this point, the team would not want the mega auction to take place.

Two Goats

Jasprit Bumrah was the only player to win the POTM award in the IPL and T20 WC final. And now this award has also been achieved by Virat Kohli.

Big Three

It can now be said that RCB is truly a part of the big three with CSK and MI. They have also won back to back trophies, like the other two teams did in the tournament.

Irreplaceable

Rajat Patidar went on to join RCB as a replacement player in 2022. And now he has become a captain who no one wants to be replaced.
