Manoj Tiwary's Strong Remarks on Gautam Gambhir Go Viral
Manoj Tiwary has made some strong comments following India's series loss against Ireland. He blamed the Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir, saying that he will escape all the blame with his PR and friends. Tiwary also defended Shreyas Iyer, saying that other batters also failed to perform well.
The T20 World champions India are under scrutiny following their series loss against Ireland. Not only was it their first loss against Ireland, it also came when India had not lost any T20I series or tournament in the last 1050 days. While Shreyas Iyer has been questioned a lot, former Indian player, Manoj Tiwary, drew sharp criticism on Gautam Gambhir.
He said, “India might go on to win the World Cup in South Africa. India might also win the T20I series against Ireland. But what about the T20I series lost against Ireland? Who is going to be accountable for it? I told you to address the elephant in the room, but no one believed my words. I know that PR agencies and friends of the so-called decision-maker will start pinpointing the blame on Shreyas Iyer.”
Further, Manoj Tiwary also defended Shreyas Iyer even when he didn't score runs with the bat. The former Indian player simply said that even the other batters such as Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and more, failed to score runs for the team.
Our Take
The start of the Gautam Gambhir and Shreyas Iyer era has not gone as expected for the Indian cricket team. A series loss against a team which doesn't even stand in the top ten of the ICC rankings. However, India will be aiming to come back on the top with the upcoming series against England. With depth in its line-up, it is now time to utilise the same.
