This Overseas Player Achieved What No Other Foreign Star Could
Overseas players have absolutely dominated in the IPL from its start. But there is one record, which is being held by an overseas player and no other has been able to level the same. It is the record of Mustafizur Rahman to be the only foreign player who won the Emerging Player Award in the IPL.
In the IPL, we have seen a number of foreign players showing their talents. Afterall, this is a tournament where the greatest players from different countries come to play against each other. Players such as David Miller, David Warner, Dale Steyn, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, and many more have dominated the tournament at its best.
And these players have also managed to make a number of records. But there is one record which has been held by a foreign player for almost a decade, with no other foreigner coming closer to the same. And it is the record of winning the Emerging Player of the season award. This award is typically won by the young Indians who dominated the tournament with their performances.
But in one season, there was a player who outscored all the Indian youngsters to win this award. And it is none other than Mustafizur Rahman. Let's take a look at how Mustafizur Rahman was able to dominate in the IPL 2016 season as a young talent.
Mustafizur Rahman’s Dream IPL Run
Mustafizur Rahman was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2016 season for a total of 1.40 crore. The team was impressed looking at his performances in the international games, as he went on to give some of his best for them in the following season.
