Gujarat Titans solidify their position at the top of the table by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shubman Gill played an elegant knock which powered GT to post above 200. This was followed by some crucial breakthroughs given by Rashid Khan, which halted the chase for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Pitch and Weather

The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which is expected to be a high scoring wicket with even bounce and good pace. Batters will be able to trust this surface when they play through the line, as pacers will also get some swing early in the game. Spinners could also cause some troubles in the middle overs if they vary their pace effectively. Dew is also expected in the second innings, which will favour the chasing teams. The weather is warm and clear.

Match Report

But Shubman Gill maintained his class by scoring 82 runs off 52 balls. Rahul Tewatia gave a finishing touch, as Gujarat Titans finished at 214 for 5 in 20 overs.

Replying to this total, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to an aggressive start with Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head at the helm. They scored 74/1 in the powerplay, as Head dominated the attack. But the introduction of Rashid Khan changed the momentum. He was able to take wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head in quick succession, shifting the momentum towards GT.
