Tom Moody Suggests Reset for Lucknow Super Giants After Poor IPL 2026
Lucknow Super Giants just finished the Tata IPL 2026 run and it was not how the team expected. Their director of cricket Tom Moody was present in the post match conference and talked about a number of things. He also suggested that the team requires a reset when it comes to captaincy.
Lucknow Super Giants played their last League game against Punjab Kings yesterday. While the team went on to post an impressive total it was still not enough for their bowlers to defend. As a result Punjab Kings went on to win the game by 7 wickets handing yet another loss to Rishabh Pant and his team LSG.
This loss also meant that Lucknow will be finishing at the last spot this season. A team filled with stars such as Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Marsh, and many more unfortunately ended up at the last spot. After the match, their director of cricket, Tom Moody, was present at the post match interview, where he talked about various things.
He even talked about a possible change in captaincy for the upcoming season. Moody said, “When it comes to the leadership of the franchise, it's certainly something that we'll be taking some very serious consideration to what it looks like in the future, but it certainly looks like that we're needing to consider a reset”.
Our Take
Even when Rishabh pant was not the captain of the team, they were able to reach the playoffs. But over the last two seasons that performances have fallen down to a great extent. Tom Moody has suggested that the team requires a reset in captaincy but there are still many questions on who could be the next best choice as a captain in place of Rishabh Pant.
