Travis Heads Wife Weighs In on Heated Head-Kohli Debate
Virat Kohli and Travis Head were involved in a heated moment in the SRH vs RCB clash. Virat Kohli was a bit infuriated with the words used by Travis Head towards his teammate. Following this, Head's wife reacted to the online hate she has been receiving.
The match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad was an intense one. This match did not end in the favour of the defending champions but there were moments which RCB fans will remember this season. One of them involved Virat Kohli and Travis Head, as they had a clash on field.
Travis Head said something about Venkatesh Iyer, which was heard by Virat Kohli. Kohli charged towards Head and words were exchanged from both sides. After the game, Travis Head even wanted to shake hands with Kohli but he ignored it. Eventually, Travis Head's wife started receiving a lot of hatred online.
She reacted to the same by saying, “It feels like a repeat of the abuse that happened after the World Cup. I woke up to my socials blasting - we are fine but they are attacking my friends & family - I think across all sports at the moment there’s an important conversation around mental health, perspective and the way we speak to one another. Passion will always be part of sport, but so is remembering there are real people and families behind the game. Hopefully this encourages more kindness and support for one another.”
Our Take
Virat Kohli and Travis Head just had a banter on the field. But the fans taking it to online abuse not just on the players but also their wives is a serious concern. It should be noted that what happens on the field stays on the field. Giving online hatred is of no benefit to either of the players or even the fans.
