Manchester City came from behind to register a record-equalling 13th Premier League win in a row with a victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium. Earlier, Charlie Austin’s effort helped Southampton earn a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth as the striker scored his third goal in as many games.

Manchester City 2 – 1 West Ham United

Manchester City, who led the Premier League chart, struggled in the first half-time as the opening 44 minutes remained goal-less. However, Angelo Ogbonna's header on the stroke of half-time put the Hammers in the unexpected lead. In the second half, Manchester City showed their fighting spirit as Nicolas Otamendi responded with an equalizer after the break before David Silva won the game for City as he acrobatically converted a Kevin de Bruyne pass with seven minutes left.

Otamendi and Silva’s goal extended Manchester City’s unbeaten record to 20 games across all competitions. The victory also meant Pep Guardiola's side re-established their eight-point lead over Manchester United ahead of the Manchester derby next week.

Bournemouth 1 – 1 Southampton

Charlie Austin's seventh goal in his last 10 Premier League starts earned Southampton a point, as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Bournemouth. Austin's return to the starting line-up provided the all-important dividends for Mauricio Pellegrino as he struck his third goal in as many games.

The game’s opening goal was scored by Ryan Fraser as he swept home his first league goal since January. But it was not enough to secure a much-needed home win for Eddie Howe's side as Southampton showed their fighting spirit after the break.

Austin was the man who made way for his team as his low strike beat the outstretched hand of Asmir Begovic to continue his fine form in front of goal.
